With solid academic training and international experience, she has led landmark projects and made significant contributions to the world of contemporary art.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1725892563015{margin-bottom: 32px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]From 2018 to 2023, S\u00f2nia Villegas was the General Coordinator of the Artistic Area at the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3-CEAC in Barcelona. She oversaw five major departments: Collections, Restoration, Exhibitions, Publications, and Public Programmes and Education, as well as the Foundation&#8217;s travelling exhibitions office. Prior to this, she served as Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the same foundation for ten years and as Coordinator of the Mir\u00f3 Chair and the International Mir\u00f3 Research Group until 2017.\n<br>Before her time at the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3, she was Chief Curator at the Museu Picasso in Barcelona (until 2009), where she worked for fifteen years in charge of programming, collections, and research, as well as coordinating temporary exhibitions both nationally and internationally.  \n\nShe holds a degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona (UB) and from the Universit\u00e9 Paris IV-Sorbonne, a Master&#8217;s in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona (UB-Fundaci\u00f3 Bosch i Gimpera), and is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at the University of Barcelona (UB). She also holds a Higher Music Degree from the Conservatori Superior de M\u00fasica del Liceu in Barcelona. \n\nShe has curated exhibitions for various institutions \u2014 notably the \u201cJean Dubuffet\u201d exhibition at the Marc Dom\u00e8nech Gallery, which won the ACCA award in 2015 \u2014 and has been a professor of the Master&#8217;s in Cultural Institutions Management at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) for five years.
